America?
Are we too proud? Do we have too much love for our nation? One problem with America is the mindset we can get from living here. Just because you are in America, does not automatically entitle you to be better than everyone else. Remember, not everyone has the same views as you. I do not think we should be forcing democracy on anyone who doesn’t believe in it, or try to help countries who do not want our help. If someone asks us to help them, thats another story, but uninvited help usually back fires in this case. If all American realize they are not entitled to greatness, and are not better than everyone else, America would be a much better place, and maybe other countries would not hate us as much as they do.
-Through My Eyes
I think that many Americans have lost the meaning of democracy - the right of the individual to choose. From this election it’s clear that many people have no respect for anyone to hold a different opinion and treat those supporters with opposing views to their own with contempt. Unfortunately this is being examplified by some of the leaders. The US was a great example to the world on a postive democracy, but watching the events from across the ocean, I don’t find that to be completely true anymore.
