Introduction:

The lights are off, there is not a single thing in the room, no lovely furniture, no television with my favorite sitcom playing, no desk to do work at, nothing, except me. I sit alone, in the dark. I am trying to figure things out, but I can no longer decipher the truth from the illusions. My mind feels as if it is going to explode, suddenly I wake up in a deep sweat. It was just a dream, or is this the dream? I really can’t tell anymore.
Boredom is something that is hard to explain, and yet, it can very simply be defined as, “the state of being weary and restless through lack of interest.” Boredom is basically what happens when you have nothing to do, and no one to do said nothing with.  Back to the dream, when you are bored to the point where you just want to give up, you sleep. Sometimes, when someone is depressed, they will do drugs as a temporary fix, sleeping is the drug of the bored. Sleeping will give you a temporary solution for the problem of boredom, but after that happens, you will be back to square one, this book is the rehab for your sleeping addiction, this book is what you need to actually cure boredom, instead of finding a temporary fix.
Not only does sleeping have a metaphoric translation to being a drug, but if you really think about it, sleeping might actually be a drug. I have came to this conclusion based upon the following points. Sleeping is used as a temporary fix for boredom. The more you sleep, the more you want to sleep. Really think about what sleeping is, you pass out, hallucinate, and then wake up forgetting everything you hallucinated about, sounds like a drug, does it not?
