That's a funky looking Ping Pong table though. I remember playing the game as a kid and enjoying it.

I think that many Americans have lost the meaning of democracy - the right of the individual to choose. From this election it's clear that many people have no respect for anyone to hold a different opinion and treat those supporters with opposing views to their own with contempt. Unfortunately this is being examplified by some of the leaders. The US was a great example to the world on a postive democracy, but watching the events from across the ocean, I don't find that to be completely true anymore.

this is crazy awesome. all the internal rhyme and how it repeats itself, only backwards. that's good poetry.

i'm kinda confused about some of the word choices though. like i don't really understand what coal has to do with anything. but ok.

Ok, but Lupe Fiasco is clearly much better than any other rapper, at least he doesn't rap about hoes, drugs, and money like every other stupid rapper out there. Obviously he isn't entirely blaming the media, and who knows if that's actually what he intended the song to be about, it's just my interpretation of it.

this is a ridiculous song and a disgrace of a metaphor.

your translation is fine. but it is dumb to think that the media single handedly destroys originality. originality is a fluxing paradox. it is in itself a contradiction. people who try to be "original" are called posers. people who don't try are conformists. it is ridiculous to categorize society based on this analysis. individualism is not an inherently valuable trait. and guess what, it's the fucking media, and liberal democracy that have brain washed everyone to believe that individualism is so fabulous. so i say "get off your high horse, Lupe Fiasco, and start acting like you actually live in the world."

this is brilliant. we often take for granted that which is most valuable. at the same time, when things seem to improve, we often forget the things that were good about our old condition.

one must look critically at the past in order the dicipher the reality of our lives.

i LOVE nomands soooooooo much!

the specific ontology involved in being a nomad is perhaps one of the most elusive philosophic questions of the decade.

i love it.

I agree with you ryan. Independence is valued far too highly in our society. I mean we are trained from a young age to believe that being able to survive in the "wild" is essential, and TV only perpetuates this message. Accepting help is viewed as week.

However, I won't go so far as to claim that this will end war. War is not just based upon independence and the need the prove yourself (although this is a base desire of religions, capitalism, adventure stories, etc.). It is based upon desire for more things, more stuff you don't need. Like land, excess food, paper that
